9TH ANNUAL BANKOLE ALUKO FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2011

The annual Bankole-Aluko football team kicked off in March 2011 at the Astro-turf football pitch in Ikoyi, Lagos. Team Babalakin & Co. played in the opening march of the tournament against Punuka Chambers. The firm has also played with the law firms of Ajumogobia & Okeke and Banwo and Ighodalo in the second and third rounds of the tournaments.

Prime law firms in Nigeria look forward to this annual football competition and many have come to see it as an important meeting point for Nigerian Lawyers, and an opportunity for otherwise busy lawyers to let their hair down. Kehinde Daodu, a lawyer in the firm and captain of team Babalakin & Co. expressed excitement about the competition and stated that the team stood a good chance of winning the cup this year.  The Firm won the cup in 2004 and 2005.  The competition was organized in memory of Mr. Bankole Aluko, SAN a star of the Nigerian Bar who passed away in 2002.
