Aderemi Oguntoye
Aderemi attended the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria where he obtained an LL.B Hons in 2001. He was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in July 2003 and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators, Advocates International, the International Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He frequently advises Foreign Investors on the legal aspects of investment in the Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry.
Aderemi is currently advising a State Government in Nigeria on an Infrastructure project worth over USD350 Million. He also provides corporate investigations and business intelligence reports on the reputation of Nigerian companies on multi-jurisdictional issues for major international consulting organisations in the United Kingdom and Europe. In early 2010, he negotiated on behalf of a prospective investor a bid for the divestment of a majority stake of the Federal Government of Nigeria in one of its major public infrastructures. He has carved a niche for himself as a negotiator of wide-ranged contractual/concession agreement with a knack for commercial governmental instruments. ‘Remi is a master negotiator of deals and in the second quarter of 2010 has facilitated and negotiated deals worth over USD 30 million.
Aderemi has attended several International Conferences including the 2009 Gulf of Guinea Oil & Gas conference in the United Kingdom; the 2008 Corporate Council on Africa Summit in Washington DC and the last five editions of the Nigeria Oil & Gas Conference (NOG) in Abuja.
Aderemi is the Second Prize Winner of the 2001 Constitutional Rights Project (CRP) National Law Students Essay Competition and the recipient of the Professor James Klotz prize for Best Participant in the International Contracts Session at the 2004 International Bar Association (IBA) Regional Conference in Lagos, Nigeria.
