Abimbola Nibson-Niboro
Abimbola was admitted to the Bar in 2006, after graduating from the Nigerian Law School with First Class Honors.
She is fully engaged in corporate and commercial transactions covering practice areas of interest.
She was a part of the legal team that represented an indigenous State Government in a multi-million dollar international airport construction transaction. She was also an integral part of the team that advised an indigenous financial institution in a major acquisition and restructuring transaction.
Abimbola was one of the transaction Solicitors that advised a leading Real Estate Finance and Development company in respect of its widely publicized offering. She recently worked with a team that advised a major investor in a bid for the acquisition of a majority stake in one of the Federal Government’s key institutions under the BPE supervised privatization scheme.
Abimbola was involved in advising the Federal House of Representatives Joint Committee (Upstream, Downstream, Gas and Justice) on the review of the Petroleum Industry Bill. This entailed a comprehensive review of Nigerian petroleum legislations, research on the petroleum regime of other jurisdictions and the legal and policy aspects of the Bill. She is currently a part of the team offering legal consultancy services to the Federal Government of Nigeria on the Gas Master Plan.
Abimbola has participated in major oil and gas conferences, seminar and trainings including certificate programs coordinated by the globally recognized CWC School of Energy specifically “Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Legal System: An International Perspective” in 2008 and “Gas Monetisation in Nigeria” 2009.
In the course of her work, she has acquired hands-on experience in legal drafting, oil and gas law, capital market and corporate and commercial law.
Abimbola attended the Lagos State University from where she graduated in 2005.
